Reflective in The Albert Dock

Weather was gloomy on a recent trip to the Albert Dock so I looked for some reflecty, patterny pics, here's the first workings of a few.

Good place for pattern and texture pics but you do need a slightly better lit day but at only £14 return on the train from Bangor, one change and a hop, skip and a jump from the station to the dock it's a cheap as chips day out.

The original pictures are of flowers in my garden, to create these image blends I selected a single column in two separate areas, then pasted each to a new layer, then transformed each selection the full width and added a layer mask, it's a well used technique but if anyone is interested in more info let me know

Bloomers

Having a sort out of the hard drive and found these bloomers, I'd forgotten all about them, enjoy

The daffs were on the floor in front of an open door and the pic taken from above.

The trees are a mix of three tree pics, I selected the black areas from each and pasted into new canvas added a slightly different sepia colour to each layer.

In these heady days of digital this and digital that, does anyone still remember FILM?.....FILM? Isn't that what my grandma used to use you may say, ( and probably a lot of you are thinking what is film) however, recently we have had many requests for film processing so it appears that there still is a big interest out there for the really creative types who do not want to be dictated to by the digital movement.
SO, this is just to let you know that we have now added to our extensive service list.......HOLGA and LOMO and Toy camera film processing..It's a hit and miss way of taking pics but isn't that the exciting bit?If anyone wants to give it a go have a look at www.minutefilm.co.uk give it a whirl..you might even like it.

It's a great place for architectural photography with the old and new buildings side by side and the canals add another dimension to your pics.

Here's a few pictures of the over priced flats, sorry, apartments in Doc Victoria, Caernarfon.....the ones with supermarket views.

The place was deserted, a bit like a disused film set, it just needed tumbleweed rolling by to complete the scene, I do like the clock though.

The flats are in complete contrast to the historical town, some might say a good thing too, I don't.

I was trying out my new Sigma 10 - 20 zoom lens on the D300 (wanted a Nikon one but they went up by £200 when I decided to buy!) and it's a beauty, I will say that Doc Victoria is ideal for a photo project but I wouldn't want to live there

Here's a few watery cameos taken at the bridge end of Llyn Dinas where the water flows over the rocks, there's also some wonderful greenery in the water that forms abstracty patterns.
